We should join the world to lobby against tobacco industry interference with WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control(WHO FCTC) and national efforts to implement tobacco control policies.

No one can deny that tobacco has adverse effects on the social-economic aspects of people and so the need to strictly regulate its use.Despite the existence of daunting scientific evidence that the drug abuse has negative health consequences, the tobacco industry is adamant and exploits the loopholes in law to their own advantage.I urge the world to rise to he occasion and push for tougher regulations on tobacco use. There is no use over-relying on utilitarian or moral arguments;we should strike a balance between the two.

Plans to vet election aspirants and state appointees laudable

Since Kenyans want leaders of integrity, there is no other way of achieving this other than publicly vetting them.It is purely acceptable for the Joint Vetting Committee  comprising the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC), Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission(EACC),Commission on Administrative Justice(CAJ),and Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to vet election aspirants and appointees to state offices. It means scandals such as Golden-berg,Anglo-Leasing and Dela Rue will be a thing of the past if would-be -leaders undergo public scrutiny.

Can Journalists be trained on defense tactics?

I was not impressed by the act of a security guard harassing a Journalist who was just doing his work. The journalist was being jabbed and pushed back and forth by an outraged security guard who was oblivious of the live coverage he was receiving from the ever-persistent members of the Fourth Estate. In worst scenarios, these journalists are beaten or even killed.Who said a journalist cannot defend defend themselves? It is high time journalists were trained in defense tactics and harassers be prosecuted.

The Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction states that’like attracts like’ or ‘thoughts become things’.So what does this mean? When we relate this to our thoughts ,it means that what you think about, you bring about.Negative thoughts produce negative circumstances and vice versa. The law of attraction is unbiased and obedient.Put simply, it can give you what you don’t want!So the only way to avoid the negative results of your thoughts is to think what you about what you want all the time. The law of attraction is real.Try it!

I will soldier on

I am facing hard times right now,but it will all come to pass. What I have to do is focus on my strenghts. In fact what I see as my weaknesses only serve to show that I am a human being.Nobody is perfect. Before I think of giving up, I should think about where I came from.It was worse than any challenge I am facing now.The most omportant thing that kept me going was the vision I had for my life.I saw myself becoming an inportant person one day and I am beginning to see that coming to pass.I will soldier on.

Will Mudavadi Be Back to ODM?

I suspect Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi will be back to ODM sooner rather than later. This is because the decision to ditch the party appears to me as  ill-considered .Going by the fact that the first defectors are not enjoying the benefits they thought would accrue from decamping, the DPM should be having a cause for worry because the same fate may befall him.

Justice Minister Eugene Wamalwa was convinced to ditch Ford Kenya for New Ford Kenya because he was promised party leadership, but was short-changed.What about Mr Najib Bala?I believe he is heading nowhere as his fame has dwindled tremendously.Mr William Ruto’s dream to State House  may be shattered if his trial at the ICC commences.

Who else should we talk about? This account will lead us to the inescapable conclusion that DPM Musalia Mudavadi will reconsider his decision to quit his former party.
